

SCHOLARSHIPS
National Skills Coalition will offer a limited number of scholarships to those working at community-based nonprofit organizations to attend the 2023 Skills Summit in Washington, D.C. on May 1-3, 2023. A portion of the scholarships will go to those who do work in California and Louisiana; those from other states are also strongly encouraged to apply.

What does the scholarship cover?

Full registration to attend the 2023 Skills Summit in Washington, D.C. on May 1-3, 2023, worth a value of $875.

$350 stipend for travel costs for the scholarship recipient, distributed after the Skills Summit takes place in May. Exceptions may apply due to extenuating circumstances. The stipend should be used to cover airfare, transportation, and meals not provided at the Summit.

Two-night hotel stay (from Monday, May 1 -Wednesday, May 3) at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Those traveling from the West Coast may qualify for three nights of hotel, depending on location.
Who can apply?

Applicants must work at a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Scholarship recipients are required to attend the 2023 Skills Summit in-person in Washington, D.C. on May 1-3, 2023.

Scholarships will be awarded to no more than one recipient per organization, though exceptions may apply.

Scholarships are non-transferable, though exceptions may apply due to extenuating circumstances.
How will you determine the scholarship recipients?
Ideal scholarship recipients will go to applicants who:

Work at community-based organizations and organizations that work primarily with communities of color (if a direct service organization)

Work at organizations that have a demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.

Have an interest in inclusive, high-quality education and skills training and economic supports for working people

Work at organizations with an annual budget of less than $1 million annually.
When are applications due?

All applications are due by 11:59pm PT on February 24, 2023. Applications will be reviewed after all submissions are received; they will not be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Applicants will be notified by Early-March of their application status.

Scholarship awardees will be asked to confirm their acceptance by early March and the stipend will be distributed after the Skill Summit takes place in May. Exceptions may apply due to extenuating circumstances.
