2024 SKILLS SUMMIT STIPEND

National Skills Coalition will make a limited number of stipends available to those working at community-based nonprofit organizations to support the cost of attending the Skills Summit from May 13th -15th, 2024. A portion of the stipends will go to those working in California and Louisiana; those from other states are also strongly encouraged to apply.  Applications are available here and will be due by midnight, Pacific Time, February 25, 2024.

What does the stipend cover?  

  • Full registration to attend the 2024 Skills Summit in Washington, D.C. worth a value of $875.  

  • Two-night hotel stay (from Monday, May 13 -Wednesday, May 15) at the Capitol Hilton Hotel. Those traveling from the West Coast may qualify for three nights of hotel, depending on location.   

  • $400 stipend for travel costs, distributed after the Skills Summit takes place in May. The stipend should be used to cover airfare, transportation, and meals not provided at the Summit.   

 

Who can apply?  

  • Applicants must work at a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  

  • Recipients are required to attend the 2024 Skills Summit in-person in Washington, D.C. on May 13-15, 2024.  Recipients must participate in the full Skills Summit in-person in Washington, D.C. on May 13-15, 2024, including visits to Capitol Hill on May 15th.  

  • Stipends will be awarded to no more than one recipient per organization, though exceptions may apply.  

  • Stipends are non-transferable, though exceptions may apply due to extenuating circumstances. 

 

How will you determine the scholarship recipients? 

We are seeking applicants who: 

 

  • Work at community-based organizations and organizations that have a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion 

  • Have an interest in inclusive, high-quality education and skills training and economic supports for working people    

  • Work at organizations with an annual budget of less than $2 million annually   

 

When are applications due?  

  • All applications are due by midnight PT on February 25, 2024. Applications will be reviewed after all submissions are received; they will not be awarded on a first come, first served basis.   

  • Applicants will be notified in early March of their application status.   

  • Awardees will be asked to confirm their acceptance by early March and to register for the summit at that time.
