February 18, 2022

During National Skills Coalition’s 2022 Skills Summit this week, individuals representing community based organizations and advocates, community colleges, the public workforce, education, and training systems, labor, and business have joined NSC staff to discuss federal skills policy agendas and how to grow an inclusive economy.

Biden Administration officials, members of Congress, industry leaders, and NSC staff all brought their unique and vital perspectives to these important conversations. Recordings of all panel sessions can be found here.

The NSC Board of Directors also awarded their inaugural Dr. Alma Salazar Bridge Builder Award to Melinda Mack, Executive Director of the New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP). Further information about the award and Ms. Mack can be found here

NSC Skills Summit programming will continue past the conclusion of the three-day event- Over the coming weeks, leaders from over 40 states will be attending Hill meetings with Senators and Representatives to advocate for skills agenda policy items. And over the next three months, NSC will also produce  Skills Summit Sequels – a series of online events to bring together policymakers and members of our network to dig deeper on the issues at play in Washington this year that will shape whether we achieve a truly inclusive economic recovery.
